What SoundCraft covers in an audio session
The product page describes separate editing and mixing views, multitrack audio and MIDI, track inserts, sends and automation. Its current README also discusses external plugin support. These are maintainer descriptions, not our recording or latency measurements.
Start with the type of session you actually use: spoken voice, music or picture-related sound. A short arrangement with one input, one edit and a simple bus exposes more useful information than opening a large collection immediately.
Check the device and recording path first
Select the intended audio input and output in your chosen build, then make a short recording that does not matter if it fails. Inspect the recorded waveform and listen through the expected output. Device availability can differ between native and browser environments.
Monitor for clipping, missing channels and unexpected timing. Change one setting at a time and keep the original source recording. We have not tested hardware devices, real-time monitoring or recording reliability in SoundCraft.
Plugins and session recall need their own trial
The official page lists CLAP support, while the current maintainer README additionally describes VST3 and Audio Units. Check the notes for the release and platform you install; a format name does not guarantee that your particular plugin loads or recalls correctly.
Use one plugin you know, make a visible parameter change, save the session and reopen it. Check the plugin state, track routing, automation and missing-media warnings. Keep a separate copy of any indispensable preset or recording.
Listen to the exported mix outside the editor
A session that plays is only part of the handoff. Bounce a short mix, reopen it in a separate player and listen from beginning to end. Confirm the chosen range, channel layout, beginning and tail.
- Create a short session with a source recording and a simple edit.
- Check levels and the intended track or bus routing.
- Save and reopen the session, checking media and plugin state.
- Bounce a separate audio file and listen to the entire result outside SoundCraft.

Choose a small task before changing your workflow
For SoundCraft, start with the representative check above and keep both the original and the saved result. Choose the official download for your operating system and processor, then inspect that exact version. A release number, screenshot or feature list cannot establish that your own file is ready to deliver.
