GridCraft formulas, tables and charts
The official page describes a spreadsheet interface with a formula bar, worksheet tabs, calculation functions, dynamic arrays, charts and PivotTables. Treat these as documented capabilities to inspect in the release you choose. We have not measured calculation correctness or workbook performance.
Use a small copy of a real workbook with known expected totals. Include only the features that matter to your job. An empty sheet cannot tell you whether a formula, validation rule or chart survives the handoff.
Check XLSX values and formulas separately
The maintainer describes XLSX reading and writing. That does not verify every Excel workbook or automation feature. Compare formula text and results, then recalculate after changing an input. Inspect date and number formatting as well as the displayed totals.
If your workbook depends on macros, external links, add-ins or a particular function, verify that requirement explicitly against the release documentation and a trial. Do not assume that opening an XLSX establishes support for everything stored inside it.
Inspect the analysis and presentation layers
Check tables, validation, conditional formatting, charts and PivotTable grouping against a reference. Change the underlying data and confirm that the dependent view updates in the way you need. A correct-looking chart can still be based on a stale range.
Save a separate XLSX and reopen it in the recipient’s spreadsheet editor. Inspect both editable structure and any print or PDF reading copy. Keep the original workbook until the calculations and handoff meet your requirements.
A first GridCraft workbook check
Choose a workbook small enough to inspect cell by cell. Record the application version with your expected totals.
- Keep the original XLSX and note a few known formula results.
- Open a duplicate and change one meaningful input.
- Check recalculation, formatting and the affected chart or PivotTable.
- Save a new XLSX, reopen it in the receiving editor and compare the results.
GridCraft versions: official downloads and this site
On 18 October 2026, the official GridCraft product page linked to 0.5.0 packages; the GitHub latest-release page resolved to 0.8.0. Use the version attached to the file you actually download and read that release’s notes.
Our hosted GridCraft browser editor uses 0.8.0. The application files were updated in this release. Startup, a small sample and your own file compatibility remain separate checks. Download your work before closing.
| Destination | Version at this check | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Official product page | 0.5.0 | Platform and package choices |
| GitHub release | 0.8.0 | Published release files and notes |
| This site | 0.8.0 | Pinned browser build; download your work |
Choose a small task before changing your workflow
For GridCraft, start with the representative check above and keep both the original and the saved result. Choose the official download for your operating system and processor, then inspect that exact version. A release number, screenshot or feature list cannot establish that your own file is ready to deliver.
Questions, answered
Can GridCraft open and save XLSX files?
The official product and repository document XLSX reading and writing. We have not verified a workbook round trip.
Is GridCraft equivalent to Microsoft Excel?
It is a separate spreadsheet application. Evaluate the formulas, workbook features and handoff your work requires; a familiar interface is not a compatibility guarantee.
Can I use GridCraft online on this site?
Yes. Open the GridCraft online guide linked above to launch the independently hosted official Web build. Keep the original and download your work before closing.
Where can I download GridCraft?
Use https://getartcraft.com/apps/gridcraft for the launcher and platform packages, or the linked 0.8.0 GitHub release for its files and notes. Check the version and checksum belonging to your selected download.
