CADCraft drawing tools and layout sheets
The official product page lists command input, object snaps, layers, dimensions, hatching and blocks. It also describes paper-space layouts, viewports and plotting. Those controls provide a set of tasks to evaluate on a small plan or part drawing.
Use known dimensions and a reference print. Check units before editing, then inspect layer visibility, text styles and dimension settings. A drawing that looks plausible at one zoom level can still have the wrong scale or missing entities.
DXF and DWG: verify the selected release and saved entities
The current README describes DXF reading and writing, DWG routes and PDF, SVG and PNG output. It also warns that entities CADCraft does not model are not retained on save. That warning makes a separate working copy essential.
Compare blocks, annotations, hatches, constraints and any specialist entities before and after saving. Reopen the result in the application that will receive the drawing. The product page and current repository may describe different release capabilities; read the notes attached to your installed version.
Check the plotted scale as well as the screen
For a PDF handoff, confirm the drawing units, sheet size, viewport scale and plotting range. Inspect labels and line weights at the intended paper size. A screen preview does not establish a scale-accurate printed result.
Use a known length to check the exported sheet and keep a reference PDF from the current drawing workflow. For any drawing used to manufacture or build something, have the responsible person verify the actual dimensions and deliverable requirements.
A first CADCraft drawing trial
Choose a small drawing containing the entity types you need. This is an editorial check sequence; we have not opened, edited or plotted a CADCraft drawing.
- Keep the original drawing and its reference PDF.
- Open a duplicate and confirm units, layers and a known dimension.
- Make one representative edit, then save to a new file.
- Reopen the output in the receiving CAD tool and inspect the plotted sheet.
CADCraft versions: official downloads and this site
On 18 October 2026, the official CADCraft product page linked to 0.5.0 packages; the GitHub latest-release page resolved to 0.8.0. Use the version attached to the file you actually download and read that release’s notes.
Our hosted CADCraft browser editor uses 0.8.0. The application files were updated in this release. Startup, a small sample and your own file compatibility remain separate checks. Download your work before closing.
| Destination | Version at this check | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Official product page | 0.5.0 | Platform and package choices |
| GitHub release | 0.8.0 | Published release files and notes |
| This site | 0.8.0 | Pinned browser build; download your work |
Choose a small task before changing your workflow
For CADCraft, start with the representative check above and keep both the original and the saved result. Choose the official download for your operating system and processor, then inspect that exact version. A release number, screenshot or feature list cannot establish that your own file is ready to deliver.
Questions, answered
Can CADCraft open DXF and DWG drawings?
The current maintainer documentation describes both formats. Check the exact release and entity coverage before using a working drawing.
Will every drawing entity survive saving?
The README warns that unsupported entities are not retained on save. Use copies and compare the saved output in the receiving tool.
Does this site host CADCraft online?
Yes. Open the CADCraft online guide linked above to launch the independently hosted official Web build. Keep the original and download your work before closing.
Where can I download CADCraft?
Use https://getartcraft.com/apps/cadcraft for the launcher and platform packages, or the linked 0.8.0 GitHub release for its files and notes. Check the version and checksum belonging to your selected download.
